About the Role
Solutus Legal Search has been exclusively engaged by a category-leading private technology company to identify a strategic and hands-on Director of Legal Operations. Our client is a powerhouse in the real-time data and AI infrastructure sector, recently valued at over $15 billion following a successful Series D financing and recognized on the prestigious 2025 Forbes Cloud 100 list. As a founder-led organization with a customer base featuring the worlds most recognizable enterprise and AI-native companies, they are seeking an operational leader who can keep pace with their rapid global expansion.
Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, the Director of Legal Operations will serve as the functional backbone of the legal department. This is not a role for a placeholder; it is a role for a builder. You will own the systems, tools, and processes that drive efficiency, partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Finance, and Engineering. You will be responsible for transforming the legal function from a service center into a strategic engine, identifying process gaps and deploying cutting-edge solutionsincluding AI-powered workflowsto ensure the team remains agile and impactful.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will lead a wide range of operational initiatives, focusing on technological optimization and cross-departmental collaboration. Your core duties will include:
- System Design & Implementation: Architect and manage a comprehensive legal intake system to streamline triage, prioritization, and tracking of all legal requests.
- CLM Ownership: Act as the end-to-end owner of the Ironclad platform, including the configuration of complex workflows, contract template management, and advanced reporting.
- Salesforce Integration: Serve as the primary legal liaison to the Salesforce team, ensuring product, partner, and regional updates are reflected accurately and collaborating with Sales Enablement on process improvements.
- Technology Strategy: Lead the evaluation, RFP process, and implementation of new legal technology tools, creating a repeatable framework for technology adoption.
- Knowledge Management: Organize and maintain the legal departments internal knowledge systems and Google Drive, ensuring high-quality data hygiene and accessibility.
- AI Innovation: Proactively identify and deploy AI-powered tools to automate routine tasks and increase the overall output of the legal team.
- Project Management: Manage miscellaneous legal projects from initial scoping through to final execution, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and deadlines are met.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with a passion for operational excellence and a deep understanding of the legal-tech landscape. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience: 7+ years of dedicated experience in legal operations or a similar role supporting an in-house legal team within a high-growth technology environment.
- Education: A Juris Doctor (JD) is considered a significant plus but is not required for this role.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level hands-on experience with Ironclad (or similar CLM), Salesforce, DocuSign, and Google Workspace.
- Strategic Execution: The ability to pivot seamlessly between high-level strategic planning and granular, detailed execution.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex system requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: A track record of thriving in fast-moving environments and the ability to drive change independently.
Our client offers a competitive compensation package designed to attract top-tier talent. The targeted base salary for this position is tiered based on professional credentials and experience:
- Candidates with a JD: Base salary range of $275,000 to $300,000 per year.
- Candidates without a JD: Base salary range of $225,000 to $250,000 per year.
In addition to base salary, this role includes a meaningful equity stake in a high-valuation, pre-IPO company.
