About the Role

As the first dedicated Developer Relations (DevRel) Content Creator at SuperPlane, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how the world perceives and interacts with our open-source control plane. Founded by the veteran team behind Semaphore CI/CD, SuperPlane is a high-growth platform where AI agents and engineers collaborate to run complex operations. With over 2,000 GitHub stars and a product that DevOps and platform engineers already love, we have reached a point where our shipping speed has outpaced our storytelling. We are looking for a technical powerhouse who can translate our fast-moving product updates into compelling, educational, and high-quality content that resonates with practitioners at mid-size to large engineering organizations.

In this role, you will be the bridge between our engineering team and the community. You are not just a content creator; you are a practitioner who understands the nuances of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines. You will spend your days exploring the product, developing authentic use cases, and turning those experiments into a multi-channel content engine. Whether you are recording a polished product walkthrough or engaging in deep technical discussions on Hacker News, your goal is to provide genuine value to the community while establishing SuperPlane as the go-to solution for modern operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Video Content Production: You will own the end-to-end production of screencasts, product walkthroughs, and video demos. This includes everything from scripting to recording and light editing, ensuring our features are demonstrated in a professional and engaging manner without needing a full production team.
  • Technical Content Creation: You will develop working use cases and translate them into deep-dive blog posts, tutorials, and technical guides. Your workflow will involve spinning up staging environments and writing real code to ensure every tutorial is runnable and accurate.
  • Community Engagement: Act as the primary voice of SuperPlane across Discord, Reddit, Hacker News, and specialized DevOps Slack groups. You will welcome new users, answer technical questions, and foster a healthy, non-salesy environment for our community to grow.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Within your first six months, you will establish a consistent publishing cadence for weekly written and video content, driving organic traffic and signups while building a comprehensive library of use-case demos for sales and product teams.
  • Occasional Event Representation: Represent SuperPlane at key industry conferences and local meetups a few times a year to build face-to-face relationships with our users and partners.
Qualifications
  • Technical Background: You have a strong foundation in DevOps or platform engineering. You are comfortable managing deployments, writing CI pipelines, and working with tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Lambda functions.
  • Content Mastery: You possess a portfolio of technical writing or video content that demonstrates your ability to explain complex concepts clearly. You have a knack for identifying what makes a workflow interesting to other engineers.
  • Coding Proficiency: You can write working code and aren't afraid to dive into a codebase. You can build your own demos and prototypes without needing significant support from the core engineering team.
  • Product Intuition: You naturally think in terms of user workflows rather than just feature lists. You can pick up a new tool and immediately understand its potential and its limitations.
  • AI-First Mindset: You integrate AI tools like LLMs and coding agents into your daily workflow to increase your velocity and improve the quality of your output.
  • Self-Directed Execution: You thrive in a remote-first, async environment. You are proactive about finding the next big topic to cover and don't wait for a list of tasks to get started.
Benefits
  • Meaningful Ownership: We offer a competitive early-stage startup salary paired with significant equity in a company that already has real traction and experienced founders.
  • Remote-First Culture: Work from wherever you are most productive within the GMT-5 to GMT+3 time zones. We provide support for co-working costs and home office setups.
  • Impactful Work: As our first DevRel hire, you will have a massive influence on our brand, our community strategy, and the future of the product.
  • Professional Growth: Work alongside the creators of Semaphore CI/CD in a fast-paced environment that values technical excellence and creative autonomy.
  • Inclusive Environment: We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to building a team where everyone feels valued and empowered to do their best work.
