About the Role

At Murmuration, we help organizations build power in their communities by providing data-driven insights, tools, and services. The Data Success Manager (Data Acquisition) is primarily responsible for the sourcing and collection of data utilized by our partners through our products and services.

What You’ll Do
  • Establish and manage operational processes to identify, evaluate, and source datasets that support civic engagement partners across organizing, advocacy, and electoral campaigns.
  • Create and perform validation and quality checks on newly acquired datasets, including schema review, field-level analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • Clean, standardize, and prepare external datasets for integration into Murmuration systems using SQL and scripting tools.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Data Success, Partner Success, Research) to understand data gaps and recommend sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor ongoing data quality for sourced datasets and proactively flag degradation or compliance concerns.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training for internal teams on how to use and understand new datasets.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Strong operational management skills to build and own processes with stakeholder expectations.
  • Moderate knowledge of SQL, including creating complex queries and manipulating large data sets.
  • Moderate experience in scripting languages such as Python.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with voter files, election data, or other datasets containing PII.
  • Experience implementing data quality control best practices.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Sigma or Tableau.
  • Experience with workplace productivity tools like Asana, Jira, or Slack.
