About the Role

Healthcare is in crisis, and Junction is building the infrastructure layer to make patient data accessible, actionable, and automated. Backed by Creandum and YC, we are scaling fast and looking for a Data Scientist to define our broader scientific and analytical system.

What you'll be doing
  • Own research and modeling work across diagnostics, clinical workflows, and AI-powered product features.
  • Define rigorous frameworks for measurement, experimentation, and causal evaluation.
  • Lead development of predictive models and statistical systems that inform product strategy.
  • Build the analytical foundation behind customer-facing features, from development through validation.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure models are production-ready and reliable.
  • Establish standards for evaluating AI-enabled features, including quality thresholds and performance monitoring.
Requirements
  • Strong track record of leading high-stakes analytical work influencing product or business decisions.
  • Deep foundation in statistical inference, experimental design, and observational analysis.
  • Strong Python and/or R skills with experience in large, messy real-world datasets.
  • Experience moving work from analysis/prototype into deployed production systems.
  • Strong communication skills to explain methods and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate with high ownership in a startup environment.
Nice to Have
  • Expertise with healthcare, diagnostics, lab, or wearable data.
  • Experience with HIPAA, PHI, or regulatory clinical frameworks.
  • Familiarity with causal inference methods (diff-in-diff, propensity scoring).
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks for LLM or AI-powered features.
  • Knowledge of modern data tooling (warehouses, orchestration, transformation layers).
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 + equity.
  • Flexible, remote-first working environment (EST timezone only).
  • $1,000 home office equipment budget and $150 monthly coworking budget.
  • $300 monthly personal development budget.
  • 25 days off per year + national holidays and healthcare coverage.
