About the Role
OWL Services is the premier sales, installation, program management, and service provider for retail, commercial, fleet, aviation, marine, and emergency power generation sectors across the United States. We are looking for a high-impact Data Analyst to join our Data Warehouse & BI team to expand the reach and operational depth of our modern data platform. This is a hands-on, remote-first role focused on developing sophisticated reports, expanding data models, and ensuring the reliability of a production analytics stack that drives critical decision-making across the entire organization.
In this role, you will act as a bridge between complex technical systems and business stakeholders. Our data landscape is diverse, involving multiple ERPs with unique schemas and conventions. You will be responsible for reconciling these differences to create a harmonized, 'apples-to-apples' view of our operations. Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and extend advanced Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and automated alerting systems across finance, operations, inventory, and vendor management.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries within Snowflake to investigate data trends, build robust models, and answer critical business questions.
- Build and refactor dbt models to standardize and harmonize data extracted from disparate ERP systems into a unified, high-performance schema.
- Partner closely with stakeholders in dispatch, finance, and operations to elicit requirements and translate business context into reliable reporting.
- Reconcile varied source-system definitions, such as chart of accounts and item masters, to ensure consistent cross-entity reporting.
- Proactively monitor data pipelines, including Fivetran connectors and dbt runs, to triage and resolve quality issues before they impact the business.
- Respond to ad-hoc data requests and document data models to ensure institutional knowledge is preserved and shared.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate analytics workflows, including DAX authoring, code reviews, and stakeholder communication.
- At least 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or BI Developer in a production environment.
- Expert-level SQL proficiency, including mastery of CTEs, window functions, performance tuning, and complex joins across massive datasets.
- Advanced Power BI capabilities, with specific expertise in DAX, calculation groups, row-level security (RLS), and Power Apps integration.
- Familiarity with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake (preferred) or Microsoft OneLake, and a strong understanding of ELT patterns.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with non-technical stakeholders to understand operational context.
