Key Responsibilities

As a core member of our data-driven team, your daily impact will involve high-level technical execution and strategic partnership across the organization. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• BI Strategy and Dashboard Development: You will lead the design, development, and optimization of sophisticated business intelligence dashboards using industry-leading tools such as Power BI, Looker Studio, and Tableau. Your focus will be on creating interactive, user-friendly reports that translate raw productivity data into meaningful operational insights for ActivTrak�s diverse global customer base.
• Data Integrity and Quality Assurance: Excellence in data starts with accuracy. You will partner closely with our data engineering teams to validate the integrity and consistency of our data pipelines. By implementing robust data validation processes and quality control measures, you will ensure that all analytical outputs meet the highest standards of reliability and professionalism.
• Advanced Analytical Deep-Dives: Beyond standard reporting, you will conduct in-depth analysis of workforce trends and productivity patterns using advanced SQL and Python. Your findings will form the basis of data-driven recommendations that help our clients and internal leaders make informed, strategic decisions regarding resource allocation and process improvement.
• Cross-Functional Support and Ad-hoc Analysis: You will act as a central resource for internal teams including HR, Operations, Product, and Sales. By querying large, complex datasets within Google BigQuery, you will provide timely and accurate responses to urgent data requests, ensuring all departments have the evidence-based insights they need to succeed.
• Evolution of Productivity Metrics: You will actively collaborate on the development and refinement of our proprietary productivity measurement frameworks. This involves aligning our core metrics with evolving business objectives and the shifting needs of the modern, remote-first workforce to keep ActivTrak at the cutting edge of the industry.

Qualifications

We are looking for a technical expert who understands the nuances of data storytelling and possesses the following qualifications:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor�s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field is required for this role.
• Technical Proficiency: You possess a minimum of 3 years of professional experience with a focus on advanced SQL query optimization and BI tool architecture, specifically with Power BI (including DAX and PowerQuery), Looker Studio, or Tableau.
• Programming and Automation: Hands-on experience with Python for data manipulation and a solid understanding of API integrations, AppScripts, and PowerShell are essential for automating workflows and enhancing reporting capabilities.
• Cloud Data Warehousing: Significant experience working within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, particularly with Google BigQuery, is a core requirement for managing our large-scale data environments.
• Data Lifecycle Knowledge: You should have a proven track record in metrics development, ETL processes, and cross-functional reporting within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Communication and Influence: You must be a skilled communicator capable of influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels. You should have the ability to translate complex technical findings into persuasive narratives for executive leadership.
