About the Role

Stio is looking for a versatile and forward-thinking Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team as a key early member. In this remote, full-stack role, you will work across the entire data lifecyclefrom ingestion and transformation to high-impact analysis and business intelligencehelping our mountain lifestyle brand make smarter, data-driven decisions across Finance, Marketing, and Operations. As a member of our team, you will embrace a modern tech stack built around Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI, while pioneering AI-assisted development workflows to ship high-quality code and actionable insights.

We are seeking an analyst who connects the dots between raw data and the bigger picture, someone with a strong bias for action and the technical intuition to navigate ambiguity. At Stio, we believe the outdoors is the best side, and we are committed to sustainability and inclusion. This role is perfect for a technical professional who is eager to shape the analytics function of an omni-channel brand while working collaboratively with AI agents to solve complex business problems. You will report directly to the Director of Data & Analytics and play a vital role in our journey as caretakers of the mountain lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

As a core member of the Data & Analytics team, you will partner directly with stakeholders across Product Development, Marketing, DTC, and Finance to translate ambiguous business questions into well-defined analyses and data products. You will own the end-to-end process of scoping, building, and validating dashboards that drive day-to-day operations. A significant portion of your work will involve building and maintaining dbt models that transform raw source data into trustworthy, documented datasets that both humans and AI agents can rely on.

  • Develop and maintain semantic context, dashboards, and reports used for daily business operations.
  • Review and harden AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code to ensure semantic accuracy.
  • Own and drive alignment on metric definitions and business semantics across disparate departments.
  • Investigate complex data edge cases by collaborating with source-system owners to improve our business models.
  • Help maintain and evolve our data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Fivetran, GitHub, and Power BI.
  • Improve organizational data governance by creating useful documentation and context for AI-driven workflows.
  • Continuously evolve your technical craft as the landscape of data analytics and AI tooling shifts.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses a foundation of strong technical fundamentals and a genuine curiosity about the evolution of data engineering and analysis. You should have at least 3 years of professional experience in a data-centric role, with a proven ability to manage messy, real-world data environments. We value candidates who are not afraid to "sweep the floor" by fixing broken links while also questioning the status quo of existing metrics.

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or a similar data role.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including expertise in CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data modeling, testing, and documentation.
  • Proficiency with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Experience utilizing Git and GitHub within a collaborative development workflow.
  • Proven ability to build and manage reports in BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • A clear perspective on AI-assisted development and how to ensure the integrity of AI-generated output.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-technical leadership.
  • Preferred experience with Python, R, or retail-specific systems like NetSuite and Shopify.
