Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Contract Mandarin Document Review Attorney, you will be tasked with navigating vast amounts of electronically stored information (ESI) to identify relevant data points crucial to the litigation process. Your core duties will include:
- Performing comprehensive first and second-level document reviews to determine responsiveness, relevance, and legal privilege within Mandarin-language datasets.
- Executing precise redactions on sensitive legal documents to protect proprietary information and maintain confidentiality standards.
- Utilizing advanced conceptual searching and tagging methodologies to streamline the discovery process and identify key trends or evidence.
- Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and analysts to refine workflows, improve coding consistency, and ensure project deadlines are met with high accuracy.
- Providing expert foreign language translation assistance and legal research to support expert testimony and trial preparation.
- Maintaining a high level of accountability and quality control, ensuring that all work products meet the rigorous standards of our diverse client base.
- Assisting with the identification of complex legal issues and contributing to the development of privilege logs and other work product.
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate a strong background in legal discovery and a mastery of the Mandarin language. The following requirements apply:
- An active Bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction is mandatory for this position.
- Professional-level proficiency in reading and writing Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to interpret complex legal and business nuances.
- Proven familiarity with standard document review workflows, including responsiveness review, privilege identification, and confidentiality protocols.
- Technical proficiency with electronic document review platforms, specifically Relativity (version 9.0 or higher is preferred), Concordance, or ViewPoint.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in legal support or litigation services is highly preferred to ensure familiarity with the litigation lifecycle.
- Previous experience working as a member of a specialized document review team on large-scale discovery projects.
- The ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining clear communication with a decentralized team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
