About the Role

Chainguard is at the forefront of a revolution in software supply chain security, and we are looking for a strategic Staff Product Marketing Manager to champion our mission. In this high-impact role, you will be the narrative architect for Chainguard Containers, our flagship offering designed to eliminate vulnerabilities at the source. You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and sales, transforming deep technical innovations into compelling market stories that resonate with developers and security executives alike. As a key member of our growth-oriented team, you will not just follow a roadmap—you will help define it by articulating the unique value of our secure-by-default infrastructure in an increasingly complex digital landscape.

At Chainguard, we believe that security should be the foundation, not an afterthought. This role is ideal for a seasoned marketing professional who thrives in the cloud-native ecosystem and possesses the rare ability to simplify sophisticated software concepts into actionable insights. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that drive adoption, empower our field teams, and solidify Chainguard's position as the trusted source for open-source software. If you are passionate about open source, developer tooling, and building a safer internet, we invite you to help us lead the charge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Product Launches: Lead the end-to-end orchestration of ongoing launches for Chainguard Containers, ensuring new capabilities and integrations are rolled out with maximum impact across all go-to-market channels.
  • Positioning and Messaging: Develop and refine the core value proposition for our container offerings, creating high-impact presentations and content that differentiate Chainguard from traditional security solutions.
  • Growth and Demand Generation: Design and execute growth initiatives by producing technical white papers, case studies, and blog posts that highlight new use cases and solve critical supply chain security challenges.
  • Sales Enablement: Act as the primary subject matter expert for the sales and sales engineering organizations, building comprehensive toolkits, playbooks, and training materials that accelerate the deal cycle.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive competitive analysis and provide data-driven recommendations on pricing and packaging strategies to maintain Chainguard’s market edge.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to influence the product roadmap based on market trends, customer feedback, and competitive gaps.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent Chainguard at major industry events and webinars, collaborating with the corporate marketing team to build brand awareness and community trust.
Qualifications
  • Proven PMM Expertise: 5-7 years of dedicated Product Marketing experience within the B2B technology sector, with a track record of driving successful product adoptions.
  • Technical Domain Knowledge: Strong familiarity with open-source software, cloud-native infrastructure, enterprise security, or developer-centric tools.
  • GTM Execution: Demonstrated ability to manage complex product launches and develop multi-channel go-to-market strategies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional ability to collaborate with and influence diverse teams, from highly technical engineers to revenue-focused sales leaders.
  • Communication Mastery: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling and distilling complex technical architectures into clear, persuasive narratives.
  • Agility and Initiative: A self-starter mindset with the ability to balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on execution in a rapidly scaling startup.
Benefits
  • Remote-First Culture: Work from anywhere in the United States with a flexible schedule, monthly stipends for coworking and connectivity, and regular team summits.
  • Robust Equity Package: Competitive stock options with an industry-leading 10-year exercise window and participation in secondary offerings.
  • Comprehensive Insurance: 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision premiums for you and all your dependents.
  • Flexible Time Off: An unlimited PTO policy that encourages you to recharge whenever you need it most.
  • Generous Parental Leave: Up to 18 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents to support your growing family.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities to learn from industry experts in the cloud-native and open-source security space.
