As a Capture Analyst, you will not be focused on traditional sales, but rather on high-impact coordination, intelligence gathering, and enablement that empowers our leaders to make informed pursuit decisions.

Key Responsibilities

As the Capture Analyst, your primary focus will be the pre-RFP stage of the opportunity lifecycle. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Support active capture efforts through meticulous coordination, tracking, and documentation across multiple workstreams and senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct deep-dive market, agency, and competitive intelligence research to support opportunity identification, qualification, and strategic positioning.
  • Maintain the integrity of Altarum’s pipeline and capture documentation within CRM platforms, specifically focusing on Zoho CRM hygiene and data accuracy.
  • Partner with Proposal and Opportunity Management teams to support early review, pre-qualification, and forecasting of future opportunities.
  • Facilitate capture review meetings, gate reviews, and action tracking to ensure opportunity prioritization discussions are data-driven.
  • Build and maintain capture tools, templates, and process documentation to improve organizational consistency and adoption.
  • Utilize advanced AI-enabled tools and research platforms to support market analysis, agency research, and capture preparation.
  • Provide reporting on pipeline health, KPIs, and forecasts to provide leadership with visibility into growth execution.
  • Collaborate with division leaders and capture teams to improve operational discipline and execution across all pursuits.

Qualifications

We are seeking a curious and collaborative professional who is comfortable helping teams move complex opportunities forward in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting capture, business development, proposal operations, or market research functions.
  • Direct exposure to federal and/or state government contracting environments, preferably within the health and human services sector.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional workstreams simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (Zoho CRM experience is a major plus) and a commitment to maintaining accurate opportunity data.
  • Practical experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT to enhance research and workflow efficiency.
  • Familiarity with market intelligence tools such as USASpending, SAM.gov, GovWin, or HigherGov.
  • The ability to influence and drive follow-through across teams without having direct authority.
