About the Role

Contact Government Services (CGS) is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Business Analyst to support a major federal agency in driving technological innovation and operational excellence. As a key member of our Business Operations and Content Strategy team, you will act as a strategic liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, identifying new business opportunities and translating high-level visions into actionable functional requirements. At CGS, we are dedicated to solving the government’s most complex challenges by uniting motivated people with advanced technology, and we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and professional growth.

In this role, you will be immersed in a supportive environment that values your expertise and encourages you to anticipate the needs of your team and clients. You will play a vital part in transforming federal service delivery, ensuring that technical solutions are perfectly aligned with the agency's mission. If you are a detail-oriented analyst with a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and a talent for creating cohesive, professional documentation, we invite you to contribute to our mission of enhancing government efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, your primary focus will be the comprehensive documentation and analysis of business requirements to ensure they are accurately translated into technical system requirements and process maps. You will develop a wide range of materials, including system architectural diagrams, wireframes, concepts of operations, and monthly status reports that meet high organizational standards. Your ability to create polished, high-level briefings for executive stakeholders and customers will be essential in maintaining transparency and alignment across all project phases.

  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop and organize technical specifications, procedure manuals, and process documentation.
  • Support the development of agendas, briefings, and training materials for new technologies, facilitating demonstration sessions for various stakeholders.
  • Research, write, and edit content across various media forms, ensuring a consistent and cohesive voice that maximizes usability and clarity.
  • Work closely with government teams to identify and implement opportunities for service delivery improvement and innovative technology adoption.
  • Utilize Microsoft and Atlassian tools, including SharePoint, Visio, Jira, and Confluence, to translate complex product data into engaging content.
  • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate project risks while managing client expectations and coordinating cross-team dependencies.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen long-term client relationships through continuous improvement recommendations.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a blend of technical acumen and exceptional communication skills. We are looking for an experienced professional who can interact comfortably with Senior Leadership and Government Executives on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing client requirements within a federal environment.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of successfully completing a stringent Background Investigation to obtain a Government Security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and the design of information systems programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Agile delivery methods and proficiency with tools such as Jira.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with government projects, policies, and procedures, particularly within DHS HQ or other federal agencies.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle and familiarity with Business Intelligence or Data Analytics tools.
Benefits

CGS is committed to the well-being and professional development of our employees. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, finance, and work-life balance as you grow your career with us.

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
  • Employer-sponsored Life Insurance and 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for Health, Dependent Care, and Commuter expenses.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and observance of all State and Federal Holidays.
  • A supportive culture that encourages continuous learning and career advancement opportunities.
