The Milton Fire Department Inc. is currently seeking disciplined, community-oriented, and highly skilled professionals to join our team as Career Firefighter/EMTs. This pivotal role is designed for individuals who are committed to public safety, clinical excellence, and the protection of life and property. • Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other service calls to provide immediate assistance and intervention.
• Execute complex fire suppression tactics, including search and rescue, ventilation, and structural fire control.
• Provide high-quality emergency medical care at the EMT-Basic or Advanced level, following established protocols and ensuring patient safety during transport.
• Operate and maintain a wide array of specialized firefighting apparatus, medical equipment, and rescue tools.
• Participate in rigorous daily training exercises to maintain peak physical readiness and stay updated on the latest emergency response techniques.
• Conduct fire safety inspections and participate in community outreach programs to promote public education and fire prevention.
• Assist in the routine maintenance of the fire station, ensuring all living quarters and equipment are kept in professional, inspection-ready condition.
• Document all incident reports accurately and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification is required.
• Pro-Board or IFSAC Firefighter I and II certifications are highly preferred.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain a commercial or emergency vehicle operator license.
• Demonstrated ability to pass a rigorous physical agility test and medical evaluation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a high-stress team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining all required state and local certifications.
