Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be the architect of our quality assurance strategy, focusing on long-term scalability and efficiency. Your primary mission involves designing, developing, and enhancing robust automation frameworks using modern industry tools such as Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and reusable automated test suites that cover web interfaces, API services, and complex microservices architectures.
You will play a critical role in our DevOps culture by integrating automated tests into Git-based CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins to support seamless continuous delivery. Beyond standard execution, you will manage functional, regression, integration, and specialized performance tests to ensure every release meets our high standards. You will participate actively in requirement reviews to define complex test scenarios, identify elusive edge cases, and ensure maximum test coverage across all application layers.
Problem-solving is at the heart of this role. You will perform deep-dive root cause analysis of failures and collaborate directly with development and product teams to resolve defects swiftly. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining test data, mocks, and specialized environments while building custom tooling—such as monitoring and reporting dashboards—to elevate the overall efficiency of the QA team. Your documentation of test plans and automation design decisions will serve as a blueprint for best practices within the organization.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate possesses a strong academic background with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. You must bring a minimum of 3 years of professional experience specifically focused on QA Automation for backend services and cloud-native infrastructure. A deep proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript is a mandatory requirement for this position, as it forms the backbone of our automation scripts.
We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in modern automation tools including Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium. You should have a solid understanding of REST APIs and be proficient in automated API testing using tools like Postman, Newman, or REST Assured. A firm grasp of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems like Git is essential for success in our collaborative environment.
Familiarity with microservices architecture, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes will be highly regarded. We also value candidates who bring experience in performance testing with Locust or JMeter, contract testing with PACT, and a fundamental understanding of OWASP security testing principles. Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with SQL or NoSQL databases will give you a significant advantage.
