About the Role

24-MAG is seeking highly qualified Biology Research Experts to join our specialized consulting network. This remote, part-time opportunity is designed for professionals with deep expertise in molecular biology, cellular biology, and experimental design who wish to apply their scientific rigor to the evaluation and development of complex biological tasks. In this role, you will leverage your laboratory experience and analytical skills to review technical outputs, assess scientific reasoning, and ensure the accuracy of biological data interpretations in a variety of research-based scenarios.

As a consultant, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between theoretical biology and practical application. You will be responsible for scrutinizing research documentation, identifying methodological gaps, and providing evidence-based feedback on laboratory workflows. This position offers the flexibility to work on high-impact projects that align with your specific scientific background, ensuring that every task meets the highest standards of technical excellence and scientific integrity.

• Conduct comprehensive scientific reviews of biology-related materials, focusing on molecular and cellular biology, laboratory workflows, and experimental methodologies.
• Evaluate technical outputs against established research criteria to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with modern scientific principles.
• Assess experimental designs and laboratory scenarios, identifying missing assumptions, reasoning errors, or methodological inconsistencies.
• Interpret complex life sciences data and review research summaries, technical reports, and laboratory notes for clarity and precision.
• Provide structured, high-quality written feedback on biological reasoning and data interpretation to support project execution.
• Analyze biological artifacts such as PCR results, sequencing data, protein assays, and cell culture protocols to verify scientific validity.
• Maintain professional judgment across all assignments to ensure that evidence-based outcomes are consistently achieved.

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Biomedical Science, or a related life sciences field.
• Extensive professional experience in laboratory research, experimental design, or biological data analysis.
• Strong familiarity with wet-lab techniques including cloning, microscopy, immunoassays, and genomic sequencing.
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and critique scientific literature, lab notes, and technical research reports.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex biological concepts clearly and concisely.
• Proficiency in using analytical tools or software common in life sciences research, such as Python, R, MATLAB, or statistical packages.
• Ability to work independently as an independent contractor in a fully remote, project-based environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining scientific accuracy in a data-driven setting.
