As a Billing Specialist at DataBank, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of billing transactions, ensuring that every invoice accurately reflects our contractual agreements. This role requires a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses a sharp analytical mind for dispute resolution, and maintains a customer-centric approach to communication. Whether you are reconciling complex service orders or collaborating with the collections team, your work will directly impact our ability to provide seamless infrastructure services to our partners.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and execute the day-to-day functions of the billing cycle, ensuring all contracted services are invoiced accurately and on schedule.
- Review and interpret complex customer contracts to ensure billing parameters, tiered pricing, and service level agreements are correctly applied in the system.
- Facilitate the transmission of invoices to clients and serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related inquiries.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies by collaborating with internal departments to ensure timely and fair outcomes.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with customers regarding account status, payment queries, and billing adjustments.
- Support the accounts receivable and collections process by identifying delinquent accounts and assisting with outreach when necessary.
- Utilize advanced functions within accounting software to generate reports and verify data integrity.
- Perform additional financial administrative duties and special projects as assigned by the billing supervisor or management team.
- Possess 1 to 5 years of professional experience in billing, accounts receivable, or collections, ideally within a high-volume corporate environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret legal contract terms and execute them with precision.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas) is strictly required.
- Experience with enterprise ERP systems such as NetSuite or Epicor is highly advantageous.
