Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare a diverse range of doughs for pies, breads, rolls, and sweet goods, as well as specialized batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes.
  • Produce high-quality icings and frostings according to established recipes and custom customer specifications.
  • Execute the baking process for all mixed doughs and batters, monitoring oven temperatures and timing to ensure consistent results.
  • Skillfully frost and decorate cakes and various baked goods with a high level of artistry and attention to detail.
  • Manage special orders with precision to meet and exceed customer expectations for quality and timing.
  • Conduct regular inventory assessments, organizing stock and requisitioning materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to maintain seamless operations.
  • Strictly adhere to food safety and quality standards to ensure all products are consistent and safe for consumption.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare occasional meals and support general kitchen functions during peak periods.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a trades certificate or diploma in baking/culinary arts, or equivalent professional experience in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow complex recipes and handle specialized baking equipment with care.
  • Strong physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding product quality, decoration, and inventory management.
  • Proven reliability and dependability, with a track record of meeting production deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, fostering a positive and productive kitchen culture.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety; a criminal record check may be required as part of the onboarding process.
