Key Responsibilities
  • Source, write, and publish multiple high-impact stories daily, maintaining a steady output of accurate and engaging content aligned with Newsweeks voice.
  • Monitor a wide array of sources, including wire services, social media, and primary documents, to identify and respond to emerging trends and breaking news developments.
  • Lead and contribute to live blogs during significant news events, ensuring real-time accuracy and narrative flow for a global audience.
  • Pitch and produce original reporting, including exclusive interviews and deep-dive features that provide unique value and fresh perspectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the U.S. News Editor and the broader international editorial team to coordinate coverage plans and cross-platform projects.
  • Apply rigorous editorial judgment and a firm grasp of media law to every story, ensuring all content is fair, balanced, and legally sound.
  • Adapt quickly to new digital tools, content management systems (CMS), and evolving journalistic techniques to enhance news delivery.
  • Maintain a flexible five-day rota that includes regular weekend coverage to ensure continuous global news monitoring.

  • Several years of professional experience in digital news journalism, specifically within a fast-paced, high-volume newsroom environment.
