About the Role
DevHub is seeking a meticulous and experienced Architectural Drafter / Designer to join our expanding Australian construction team. In this fully remote role, you will be a critical link in our project lifecycle, transforming conceptual sketches and engineering specifications into precise, construction-ready documentation. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside project managers, engineers, and estimators, ensuring that every detail aligns with Australian building standards and project goals. Key Responsibilities- Draft comprehensive architectural drawings and construction documentation from initial sketches, mark-ups, and engineering details.
- Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and complex framing details for residential and light commercial builds.
- Manage the revision process, updating drawings throughout the design and construction phases to reflect project evolution.
- Ensure all documentation is strictly compliant with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
- Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including estimators and engineers, to resolve design discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain rigorous version control through organized drawing registers and project documentation management.
- Interpret complex architectural plans and technical specifications to assist in developing complete, ready-to-build sets.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase by clarifying design intent and material requirements.
- Proven professional experience as an Architectural Drafter, Building Designer, or Architectural Technician.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent industry-standard drafting software.
- Solid understanding of Australian residential construction methods, particularly structural timber and light gauge steel framing (LGSF).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, facade systems, and technical material specifications.
- Prior experience with the Australian National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian building standards is highly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines independently.
- A degree or diploma in Architecture, Building Design, or a related field is considered a significant advantage.
- Must possess a reliable computer, stable high-speed internet, and a dedicated, professional workspace.
