About the Role

Prolific is not just another player in the AI space; we are the architects of the human data infrastructure that is reshaping the landscape of global AI development. In a world where foundational AI technologies are increasingly commoditized, it is the quality, diversity, and integrity of human-generated data that truly differentiates the world’s most successful models. As we continue to scale our operations to meet the demands of the AI revolution, we are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a foundational role that offers a unique vantage point into the financial mechanics of a high-growth tech firm, providing the perfect environment for someone ready to kickstart their career in finance.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization. You will work directly with our core finance team to streamline processes and help shape our finance function as we enter our next stage of growth. We are looking for a true team player—someone who is not afraid to get stuck in and take ownership of their tasks. You should be naturally detail-oriented and comfortable navigating a mix of recurring daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities, all while maintaining the proactive mindset needed to identify improvements in our current workflows.

Key Responsibilities

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be the engine room of our day-to-day financial operations. You will be expected to manage a variety of tasks that ensure our records are accurate and our stakeholders are supported. Your core duties will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring all supplier invoices are processed accurately and paid within agreed terms.
  • Overseeing accounts receivable by issuing timely invoices to our global customer base and following up on outstanding payments to optimize cash flow.
  • Performing daily bank reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of our financial data across our accounting software.
  • Assisting the wider finance team with month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of journals and accruals.
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for financial queries, communicating effectively with internal teams such as Support, HR, and Operations.
  • Responding professionally to external customer billing inquiries and resolving discrepancies with a focus on high-quality service.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects, audit preparation, and the implementation of new financial tools and systems.
Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about finance and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. While we value specific financial knowledge, your attitude and ability to collaborate are equally important. To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong foundational understanding of accounting principles or a keen interest in pursuing a professional qualification (such as AAT, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling numerical data and complex documentation.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines without compromising on quality.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
  • A proactive and inquisitive mindset, showing the confidence to ask questions and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Proficiency in modern office software, particularly Microsoft Excel, and an aptitude for learning new financial software quickly.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Benefits

At Prolific, we believe in supporting our team members as they grow alongside the company. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to foster professional development and personal well-being, including:

  • A remote-first working environment that offers genuine flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
  • Generous opportunities for professional development, including support for financial certifications and training programs.
  • A collaborative and inclusive company culture where every voice is heard and every team member can make a visible impact.
  • The opportunity to work at the cutting edge of the AI industry within a company that prioritizes ethical data and human participation.
  • Regular team-building events and social activities to keep our remote workforce connected and engaged.
  • Competitive holiday allowance and a commitment to mental health and well-being support.
